When people think of art books, visions of full colored page artworks come to mind. This book has none of that.
Ok, that's a lie. Rozen Maiden Kunstwerk does contain images created in the style as the front cover, but this takes up about 10 of the 191 pages. The art instead contains a multitude of line art. If you're a fan of pencil sketches and a lot of them, this book is for you.
An engaging play on the book's spine
Obviously, they like TV as much as we do.
The only source of color are on the pages with the anime style art. The rest of the book is in black and white. Rozen Maiden aired with two TV seasons and an OVA (original video animation). The drawings cover all of them. Kunstwerk at the time of its release is the only Rozen Maiden art book which has pictures from the OVA.
While all the characters get time in this book, there is a slight inclination towards Suiseiseki and she shows up quite a lot, almost as prominently as leads Shinku and Suigintou. A bonus CD soundtrack is included which has eight drama tracks based around -not surprisingly- Suiseiseki. Along with the wonderful drawings, an interview with the cast ends the book.
